The Brewery

A Day at the Brewery Art Colony
642 Moulton Avenue, Los Angeles, 90031

The world's largest live-work art colony is just east of downtown with more than 500 residents and artists.

This is a really great and well-equipped photography lab with color and b&w darkrooms, as well as a digital lab. They charge by the hour and I suggest paying the three month member fee if you print a lot.  They also offer workshops and have regular photo openings. They are open pretty late too which is nice if you want to go print after work.  It's is hard to find so you may have to ask around when you get there.

Grab some coffee or a beer & bar food at this bar and restaurant center of the brewery right across from Translight. They have a nice outdoor patio if the weather cooperates (but then again, when does it not in la?)...

I took a sushi class here years ago and loved it. The owner has expanded her business all over the west coast but I believe this was the first one. Their studio is right off the main parking lot by Barbara's. They have daily classes from 6-9pm at $55 dollars per class.
