Fish King and Eden Wine and Spirits

Fish King
722 N. Glendale Ave., Glendale, 91206

If you want to get fresh fish in the northeast part of Los Angeles, Fish King is the place to go. Just off the 134 fwy at the Glendale exit, this family owned fish market is easy to get to and the parking is never a problem. Their fish is extremely fresh and they have one of the largest selections of fresh seafood and fish I've seen in the area.  They also distribute to a lot of nice restaurants in the area. Their seafood selection ranges from all the usual suspects to branzino, fannie bay oysters ($1.09 each), Pacific oysters ($7.85 for 1/2 pint), Alaskan Crab Legs, Maine lobsters, etc. etc...And they have weekly, and I'm sure daily, specials. Aside from their fish, they also carry poultry and there is a mini market where you can get produce, wine, beer, sake and any or all of the makings for sushi (including, of course, the sushi grade fish). Finally, there is a galley where you can get chowders, lobster rolls, crunchy fish sandwiches, cioppino, sushi, etc.

Eden Wine and Spirits
 333 N. Verdugo Rd, Glendale, 91206

A couple of minutes away from Fish King is Eden Wine and Spirits. I didn't get a chance to try their deli sandwiches, but they had an amazing selection of spirits (vodka and oysters anyone?), as well as wine, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. He informed me that at the end of the month they are opening a wine bar attached to the retail store that will have food and a street side patio. I really like this quieter area of  of Glendale, above the 134, and it is really easy to get to, either from Colorado Blvd. (coming from the East) or the 134 or 2 fwy.  Oh, and there is also a chocolate store next door (Mignon Chocolate) if you are feeling like being a complete lush.
